Quirky Nook Story
Inspired by her love of color and intricate layering, Christine Middlecamp initiated Quirky Nook in early 2017 with the goal of inciting positivity and joy following widowhood. Her creations are whimsical, modern and visually inviting and a perfect fit for any occasion. You can combine and layer them to tell a story all your own. And thanks to her many supporters and fans, her pieces are met with great anticipation and receive rave review. Every release is a limited edition collection - tiny works of original art picked up for jewelry collectors from around the globe.
Christine's artistic endeavors followed her through childhood, but they truly took hold in her early twenties while working at a local bead shop in Bloomington, Minnesota, "Bead it!" It was then that she was introduced to the Czech glass industry, Swarovski, gemstones, Japanese seed beads, and the intricacies of jewelry design. Through mentoring and hands-on coursework, she learned the necessary skills to formulate both introductory and advanced jewelry design, including sculptural applications, wire working, and weaving. She's a retired member of Minnesota Bead Society and has spent countless hours touring some of the countries largest bead shows. Her work has been published in popular bead magazines - both Bead & Button and Beadwork. Today, at 42, she is finishing a Bachelor Fine Arts Degree at River Falls University, Wisconsin with an emphasis in graphic design. She resides with her significant other and three sons on fifteen acres in tiny rural Ellsworth, Wisconsin - where she manages and grows the Quirky Nook.
